I’ll leave late night oppo with a late night question. Gonna go to bed and see what I wake up to.
spoiler: this is kinda what I would want out of a secondary car because I am going to do a lot of utilitarian, A to B miles in the coming year

I enjoy these types of discussions, but I think you should specify if you’re referring to a new or old car. If it’s the latter, the possible pool of vehicles is just massive haha
The other problem is that “pretty” and “very cheap” are subjective.
That being said, as some have posted on here, the Infiniti G35 wrongfully gets a lot of hate; one of the last manual-available RWD cars that’s still quite luxurious, definitely comfortable, reliable, fairly good MPG, seats in the back. Not necessarily pretty, but it isn’t bad-looking either, and hey it’s technically a Skyline (just not a GTR) in Japan haha! Some are going for less than $10K online.
Everyone I’ve met who has one loves it.
Maybe something old and American might be good too. Old Mustang? Old Camaro? Reliable in the sense that it won’t break, but perhaps not the best MPG.
Maybe Miata.
There are S2000s in the $10K-$15K range but they mostly have 100,000+ miles. Not sure if that matters; I’m aware of some Japanese cars being just fine until about 300,000, such as the Lexus SC series and MKIV Supra. (Some people really like the old Lexus SC and IS, maybe those are worth a look.)
Correct me if I’m wrong anyone, but I think in this kind of situation you’re looking at American or Japanese. I think with European stuff, you’d have to pick only 2 or 3, as Peter Black suggested haha!

k then
Bear with me here. It checks all the boxes, it is comfortable, elegant, very cheap and apparently also very reliable by italian car standards. Everytime I come across this thing in publications or the internet it is praised on the most part. Also half of the ones for sale on the local used car websites are high mileage cars, not few with 200,000+ miles, so there must be a reason for that.
But since I assume you live in the land of the unfree you can’t have one until 2019, so I’ll go with a Roadmaster instead.

Any of the old (late 90’s) GM H-bodys. Bonneville, 88, Lesabre. Common so you have choices and prices are cheeeeeap. 3.8l + 4spd auto is a rock solid drivetrain. Obviously cushy. Looks...ehhh avoid beige and whitewalls and they aren't bad (i actually like the 88's).

Cheap...utilitarian and a lot of A to B? Join the j body club friend. Get something with the L61 ecotec and an aftermarket stereo so you can plug in an mp3 player. Parts plentiful, can be had for a song. L61 indestructible and a lot quicker than other economy cars it’s age like an accent or corolla. My annual maintenance budget is like $600 /year.
This year so far I’ve gotten one oil change, and replaced a headlight assembly (because crashed into snowbank) and replaced one coil pack. So about $200.
Not too many left north of $3K these days.
